Update of Sorts

Sorry for the sort of unofficial hiatus! I'll be back in full swing in no time, worry not, but until then if you want to follow me in some manner of blogging capacity, my tumblr is a good place to start. It's a nice peek into my psyche, at any rate.

I'm also, as always, extremely active on my twitter. I know it's locked but if you're not spam I'll always accept your request.

Cheers! ♥

Neon Floral

A very belated blog post this evening! Greg and I got caught up watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones and an episode of Community, which we're nearly caught up on (ridiculously). All we did over the weekend was sleep in, watch Community, eat junk food, stay up 'til 8:00 in the morning, and then watch more Community. It was glorious, perfect, and just what I needed out of life.

This dress is a new one from Saturday, the day in which I spent lots and lots of money. They had this dress in a few colors and prints at H&M, but my favorite was this neon floral print on black. I love floral prints most when they're not too utterly girly, and I love the shape of this dress so much! Look forward to seeing it a lot in future.

I'm wearing: H&M dress, belt, and cardi; necklace from Mom.

Not feeling the whole blog thing lately and I'm not sure why. Right now it feels like something I'm just churning out automatically because I should, not because it's something I really really want to do. I mean yeah I'm still enjoying it, otherwise I would just take a break altogether (and I'm wont to do so intermittently), but I'm just distracted by what seems like a million other things. Worrying about grad school, the million shows I'm watching, spending time with Greg, socializing, and whatever other dumb and pointless things I do when I get home from work. I know, it's not like I'm busy doing real things (unlike two weeks ago), but for whatever reason I feel like blogging isn't something I want to put forth a lot of time and effort to do.

No worries, though, I feel like this every once in a while and I'm sure it will pass! It had better, because I have a billion new things to dress up in, huzzah! I am excite.

Ignorant American

There's something I've been stewing over for the past several weeks, and I suppose I'd better just get it out there to hear what the rest of you think. People keep telling me to, essentially, "watch out" when I go to the UK because people over there will be expecting me to be an ignorant American. I've been advised from multiple friends that I should read up on our government, the UK government, the UK history, and various other histories and current events. Which, sure, I'm actually very interested in history and I'd like to be more in touch with what's happening in the world; but seriously, are people in the UK going to be just waiting for me to make some mistake and then jump on me for being an idiot American? Seriously?

I feel like this is a crazy myth we like to spread around in the States because it makes us feel like some kind of stupid-tumor on the Earth, and we really like hating on ourselves over here (or at least the liberals I know who were threatening to move to Canada when Bush was elected for a second term). It's silly, I think, because there are ignorant fatheads in every country, no matter where you go. Perhaps there's a higher density of them in the States, but we can't help it that we have a Bible Belt, guys (kidding! kidding... kinda).

Anyway I'm just curious if you awesome UK readers have ever come across Americans and quizzed them on like... current events and American history in order to gauge their intelligence. Somehow I doubt it (because who would actually do that outside of an epic douchebag?), and I think my friends are fearmongering, but you never know! I've only been a tourist in Germany and Italy, and they didn't speak English so if they were dissing me I couldn't have known.

I'm wearing: Target skirt and tights, F21 belt, H&M t-shirt and necklace.

Ugh what am I doing with my tummy in that photo, I don't know why I picked this picture last night. And now I feel obligated to post it because otherwise I'd only have three photos in this post. Ugh, blogworld problems!

This was yesterday's I'm-super-greasy-and-tired-and-can't-be-arsed outfit. Notice the pushed-aside bangs... they're staying there by the power of their own greasiness.

This weekend I have absolutely no plans whatsoever, and it makes me infinitely happy. I'm tired of going places and doing things all the time! Although I'm hoping I'll at least be able to fit in a shopping trip somewhere amidst all the vegetating. Somebody needs a spring jacket.

Guest Post at Holland 1945

I know you've seen this outfit before in my tattoo post, but if you want to see more (and read about when/how I started blogging among other ramblings), head over to Holland 1945 where I've done a guest blog post for today! Yay!

Star Wars Day

Happy Hump Day, kidlets! And, don't forget, it's also Star Wars Day! May the fourth be with you, etc. It took me a while to get that one, but once I got it, it was amazing.

I'm not incredibly impressed with my outfit today; too much black. But at the same time I love my hair and jewelry, so we'll say it balances out. I basically haven't taken off these shoes since I got them, either! So cute and comfy, and they go with pretty much everything ever. My quest for the perfect pair of black flats is over, even before I knew it had begun. How about that!

I'm wearing: UO dress, H&M cardi, Blowfish shoes, F21 earrings, necklace from street stall in Florence.

Don't know what's going on with my eyes in that photo, but it made me lol, so I posted it here.

Notice how I specifically said my necklace was from a street stall in Florence. This is in order to inconspicuously brag about the fact that I was in Italy at one point in my life, and was even cool enough to buy something from a street stall. I mean isn't that why we all put that shiz under our outfit photos? TO SHOW HOW COOL WE ARE. Well I went to flipping Florence!

But enough of that. In about fifteen minutes I will be placing an order for my one-way ticket to London. How about them apples? Braggity brag brag. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO HEAR ABOUT MY OVERSEAS ADVENTURES.

Okay I'll shut up now, I love you guys so much! Thank you a billion for all the positive feedback about my tattoo, I'm so so glad you all approve! I'd hate to have gotten a shitty tattoo that you'd all have to suffer through every time you came to my blog. ♥

Hello Tattoo

Everybody, say hello to my brand new tattoo! A lot of you probably saw it on twitter already, but I wanted to make a little post about it so those of you not "in the know" can understand why I put a blue police box on myself for all of eternity. I figured I'd do a little FAQ here since I've been getting a billion questions about it!

Q: What the hell is that thing on your arm.
A: It's the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space)! The TARDIS is a time machine/space ship from the BBC show Doctor Who, in which the Doctor travels with his companions doing cool stuff. It looks like a police box but it's bigger on the inside! Beneath the TARDIS is a bow tie, and the word "geronimo." These are there because my Doctor is the Eleventh Doctor (played by Matt Smith), and he wears a bow tie, and his dorky as all hell catchphrase is "geronimo!" Essentially this is the nerdiest tattoo known to mankind. (Unless you count my friend Rachael, who got a TARDIS that says "allons-y!")

Q: Why would you do that to yourself!
A: I heart Doctor Who. A lot.

Q: Did it hurt omg how much did it hurt.
A: Yes it hurt like a motherfucker. Nobody warned me that it would hurt so much, but I'm glad they didn't! Otherwise I'm not sure I'd have done it. Well I would... but I think I would have pooped my pants beforehand. It seriously hurt a lot! Like someone dragging a needle across my skin. Oh wait that's basically what was happening.

Q: How big is it!
A: As you can see in the photos, it's about 4 inches tall! Bigger than I had originally planned, but I like it exactly how it is now.

Q: Are you happy with it?
A: Yes, yes I am completely happy with it! It would kinda suck if I wasn't, haha, but I totally am. I think the style suits me perfectly, and now I am branded with the love of my favorite show and my favorite Doctor, which I think is pretty kickass. So yes, I LOVE IT! ♥

If you have any other questions feel free to leave them in the comments. And yes I am going to post bigger, clearer pictures of it soon, once it stops being swollen and peely. Gross.
