Something Blue

Happy Royal Wedding Day! Oh man you guys. I don't think you understand how upset I am that I'm not English today. Although, in the words of a friend (also an Anglophile): "But we are English," at heart anyway. That's what's consoling me in my sorrow over the fact that I didn't get up early enough to watch the Royal Wedding, plus the fact that I can't properly celebrate as I'm not in England right now. Celebrating in America is just lame and sad. Ugh!

At any rate I spent my entire morning looking at pictures from the ceremony and making happy sounds. As is my life.

I'm wearing: H&M skirt and belt, F21 top, Target flats, cardi from my Aunt a million years ago.

Kind of a blah outfit here, but I enjoyed it! I'm loving this skirt; I wish I'd gotten it in every color. I suppose I can always go back and get more, but I prefer to just wallow in regret rather than solve my problems.

Super excited about tomorrow! I'm getting my tattoo in the early afternoon (my first ever!), and then Doctor Who is on later that night! I can't handle my excitement. I must run around in circles, flailing and making high-pitched sounds in order to channel my crazed enthusiasm!

Oddly I've been listening to the Doctor Zhivago (by Ludovico Einaudi ♥) and Braid (a game of which I've only played the demo) soundtracks all day, which are two of the most melancholy soundtracks ever created, but nevertheless I've managed to remain ridiculously giddy all day. Thank you, Doctor Who!

I'm sooo happy that someone else appreciates the Royal Wedding like I do! So many people have called me stupid for being so obsessed, but really, the whole thing makes me tear up! The two really are a match made in heaven. I wish them allll the happiness in the world! Eee! My roommate and I woke up at 3 am to watch it and it was so worth it!

I like your outfit. Simple is perfect!

Ha! I've only played the demo of braid was quite an interesting game :)

Shame we couldn't have traded countries for the day I didn't pay much attention to the wedding goings on other than enjoying my day off :)

I didn't even realize til the last pic that those were little hearts all over this top! Cute! Grandmother came straight off the boat from England, but I sorta don't care about this royal wedding... does that make me unamerican?

Aww I love that skirt so much! I tried on the same one and it made me look frumpy, so bummed because everyone else looks killer in it. I love your anglophile self, perhaps because I have lots of English in me and I just pretend you love me that much. ;) Oh and I'm seriously excited to see your tattoo...it's going to be amazing!! xo Meg, have a wonderful weekend!

Being in England during the Royal Wedding means a lot of people wearing red, white and blue, every bloody shop (apart from one pancake house, phew) closed, alcohol specials everywhere, including this ale, and many MANY street parties... so.... you didn't miss much. As for your outfit, you look beautiful, your skin looks so clear! have a royally lovely day!

I've been reading all the articles I've read ont he wedding today out loud in a British accent. It's really helping with the whole Brit-envy thing. Like, a lot. Though, my roommates probably think I'm nuts.

I really love that shirt. And I know what you mean about not being British 9especially on such a great day). Sigh.

First of all, I loooooved your tattoo! I saw it on Twitter earlier and I think it's perfect for you!!

Second of all, I cannot wait til you are in England either! Not like I'd know from personal experience, but it seems like the perfect place for you! I should be an anglophile, seeing as my mom's side of the family has been involved in British government since the 1600s, but I just found the royal wedding too be a bit much. Wehhhh. They were really cute though and I LOVED her dress!

How awesome was Kate's dress?

I love this skirt toooo. I almost bought it this weekend. Then my coworker came prancing in with it on today so I guess it's best I didn't.

Dr. Zhivago soundtrack = awesome.
