Elbow Patches!

I loved my outfit today. It's simple, but I like it. For some reason I love rich brown and black together, despite the fact that you're not supposed to wear them together. Well, as long as you follow the "rules" you're good, but I think fashion rules are the stupidest thing in the world, just saying. Anyway, I also have a slight obsession with cropped sweaters at the moment, and I've always loved elbow patches, so this sweater is my favorite thing in the world right now. I heart it to pieces!

I'm wearing: H&M sweater, Old Navy skirt, magnifying glass necklace from Mom, Crown Vintage boots via DSW.

Also check out my boots! I got them on Boxing Day with my mom at DSW, on sale for 40% off! I love sales. And these are just the kind of boots I was looking for, with bonus cool little fringe thingies on the front. Fringe thingies! They are super comfortable, and like I said in my twitter, they make me feel like a Victorian hipster-witch. ...So basically, awesome.

This necklace is my new favorite piece of jewelry. It's a Christmas gift from my mom, and I won't deny it -- I totally wanted it because it reminds me of Sherlock Holmes! What with that and the elbow patches, I just need a pipe and I could be like... a professor/detective from Victorian England (in my mind). A girl can dream.

I just got back from watching Black Swan with my bestie/neighbor Rose, and it was so stressful. Really good, but so stressful. I will never pick at the skin around my cuticles ever again.

Well, herpa derp. I'm out of things to say. Time for bed I guess?

From watching the trailer for black swan I got the impression it would stress me out. I think i might wait for DVD when I can watch it and stop it as I go.

I really like your boots. I agree that sales are pretty much the best. :)

I love mixing black and brown. And I have had this hankering to sew my own elbow patches on my old sweaters for weeks now. You may have just inspired me to go actually do it because you look so dang cute! xo

OMG Black Swan! You said it perfectly... stressful but good. I happened to go see it while wearing a scarf, which was a good thing because I was constantly clutching the scarf for dear life. But up by my face, so I could pull it up over my eyes when necessary. And I'm no wuss... but this movie got to me!!

Meg! I missed you and your adorableness!! I have never been able to find an elbow patch sweater! I guess I can try making one or something. Great find!

Duuuude Black Swan was awesome possum. I lurve Natalie Portman even though Kyle would trade me in for her in a sec, but can you blame him?

So yeah, if you ever make it to the mitten, I am taking you and Greg for the best Thai food ever!!

This is one of my favorite outfits you've ever worn. You know I'm a sucker for a brown and black outfit. Fashion rules? Pssh, we make our own rules!

Random: I just bought a magnifying glass that stands up (with an antique-esue pink base) for no reason other than thinking it was really cool. :)

One) Loving that sweater. Two) In love with those boots. Three) I just saw Black Swan, too, and:

"Really good, but so stressful. I will never pick at the skin around my cuticles ever again."

Summed it up perfectly.

Ok Meg. If I send you every single penny in my bank account, can you go to H&M and buy me tons of sweaters like this? Deal? Good. But seriously, I hated the whole elbow patch thing when it first happened...but I've been insanely in love with it lately. AHHHHH your sweater is just soo cute.

I was eyeing that same sweater at h&m the other day! The elbow patches are so great! Black Swan has to be my favorite movie of the year so far! I loved it so much, but I did feel very stressed out while I was watching it; which makes it that much more successful of a film. Oh and also those boots totally rock.

I have that same sweater and looooove it to bits! I usually wear it with brown because I thought with black it would be too much like Halloween. You have proved me wrong :)

That sweater is perfection. The cropped length & the color and the elbow patches. D: Brown & black is my favorite color combo right now- screw the rules. Purty jewels too.

I pretty much just really love your sweater. Your boots are cool too though. I saw a brown pair similar to those at DSW and am really regretting not having gotten them.
