Zombie Apocalypse

All I can think about right now is The Walking Dead. One of my coworkers has been lending out his copies of the graphic novel and we're passing them around like crack. Usually I have a hard time reading comics or manga, unless they're in short strip form -- there's something about the combination of text and illustration that makes my eyes want to be everywhere at once and I can't follow it properly -- but I'm completely addicted to this series. The zombie thing is done to death, but The Walking Dead focuses more on human interaction than zombie-slaying, although there's plenty of that. Actually I think the characters are pretty much the most irrational, insane, emotionally-driven pile of fail ever, but they enthrall me. All I can think is, "What's gonna happen next? What crazy batshit stupid thing will they do next?!" You know you have a good story on your hands when that's the case.

I'm wearing: vintage blouse, F21 skirt and earrings, Target tights.

I've been thinking a lot about the Zombie Apocalypse now, naturally. I think the Apocalypse is a fascinating topic enough already, but add zombies to the mix... well, it's a recipe for super interesting. I have so many thoughts, ideas, and questions about a hypothetical zombie plague.

For instance, do you think the President would probably survive that shit? Unless he was the very first zombie, I'm willing to bet he'd be immediately flown out of there and holed up in a mountain somewhere with his family and secret service. I wonder what he'd do in his stronghold? Try to come up with a way to get rid of the zombies, or simply wait it out? You know he and other super important people would get out before the zombies completely overran the civilized world, so I wonder if they'd still be in communication.

Also I'd like to think I wouldn't be like one of those people who stops to rest right by a darkened hallway, or freaks out and is like, "Greg's still in there! That zombie could still have his soul inside, waiting to get out!" I'd just chop his zombie head off. There's no time for emotional nonsense in the Zombie Apocalypse.

Where would I go, though? I'd probably try to find a boat and live in that, to be honest. I'd just drift down the Willamette and then find my way to the ocean and go fishing. Zombies can't swim, I'm assuming, so Greg and I could just live on a little boat and get super tan and good at fishing.

I had other cool questions about the Zombie Apocalypse but I can't remember them. What would you guys do if a zombie plague erupted? What questions would you ask, aside from "why the hell are there suddenly zombies everywhere"?

Yes, I would totally chop off Darin's head if he were a zombie. We've had this conversation many times, and he approves of my decision.

Your tights!!!! I want.

Sorry, that comment is Louise! Not Darin! Sheesh.

I don't.... Do zombies. In anything. I can't handle it. But, I do enjoy apocolyptic stuff.
You should look for S.M. Stirling's "Change" novels! You'd like 'em. (no zombies though)

You make me laugh. So, so much haha. But what would I do?! I'd grab my cat, and drive. drive for as long as I can. And we'd be little mobile farts that don't really have one place, but rather we're running. Which is I guess is a step up considering all we do now is lay around and stare at each other. We may get tired quick though... we'd die really fast. I'll accept that sooner or later haha.

Ok so my friends and I play this game in order to prepare ourselves for a zombie apocalypse. It's sorta difficult to explain but it involves sending zombies at each other via texts, and then we have to defend ourselves using whatever weapons we have around us, or we can just come up with a super good escape plan. you only have like 2 minutes to respond to your attack text so it gets very intense. so intense that i kept a knife on my office desk for a while, just in case.... hahaha

OH yeah. You look purty. Looooooove that blouse.

XD

This post is probably my favorite ever, because of all the zombie content. I love the walking dead, so good. I would definitely be all about murdering the zombies, even if I knew them. I don't know where I'd go actually. But now I'm going to think about it alll day long

Oh, and your outfit is super cute. I love the blouse and your earrings!!!

The reason I started following your blog was because of how much your character and personality shines through in your writing. Take this post for example, you are hilarious! I love the blouse, this outfit seems reminiscent of a modern day Victorian outfit. The high collar is amazing on you!

I'd go somewhere cold, because zombies move slow and they'd move even slower in the snow. (That way I wouldn't be out to sea with no fresh water source...)
I haven't read the series, but I did see the show. I agree with someone above who said the first half was good and the second was bad. It was.
There's another series called 'Y the Last Man' that's kind of apocalyptic, except only the men die off (all but one anyway). My roommate loves it and I haven't read it yet, but we like pretty much all the same stuff so I feel okay recommending it.

Oh and I don't think I've mentioned how much I love your blog name because Dr. Who is the coolest ever. I should change my blog to 'I Wear A Fez Now' and we could be companion sites. (I guess we're British entertainment besties!)

I'd probably just pop Shaun of the Dead in the dvd player, lock the doors and windows and take notes. You look adorable.

First, love the outfit. This love is becoming a pattern, and I must say, one I don't mind at all!

Second, if there is one thing that scares the heebeyjeebeys outta me, it's Zombies! Eeeeuugggh! Usually, I can handle all creatures of the night, but if zombies popped up... Well, I'd have to hide under my bed. Or acquire a sawed-off shot gun. Or both.

I love that you just wrote a whole post about your thoughts on the zombie apocalypse. It makes you my favorite.

Also, I effing LOVE this outfit. Everything about it is just incredible.

I think when you go London for school, you should start a secret society for the Awareness of Zombie Apocalypse. Your thoughts are very compelling:)

btw, if it were me in a situation where zombies were after me, I'd be a lost cause. I hate running and my asthma is bad so I'm pretty sure I'd get zombified in about 2 minutes.

Hahahahha, I loveee the Walking Dead! (I watch the show!) Sooo good, I love the human interaction so much, it's so powerful. And I really hope that zombie thing never happens, because I would totally be the person so not be able to kill someone I loved even if they were 'zombie like'. Haha

Anyways. You look really cute and I love the extensive zombie rambling in between adorable pictures of you. Soo funny <3

You know, I've been playing Plants vs. Zombies and I've been thinking about this whole zombie thing lately. I like your living out to sea idea. I'd totally hijack a cruise ship though, so all my friends and family could hang out with me. Then I guess we'd just wait it out? Gosh how long do you think it would be before the zombies killed each other off or whatever?

Anyway...I love your outfit. That's such a "Meg" top. Good thing you're Meg I guess!

Glad you could just chop my zombie head off without any hesitation. Remind me to never be tired around you again.

I would live in a secluded place and keep one as a pet like in Fido. I get to wear zombie make-up to my job on Thursday! I'm going to try to get outfit pictures while I still have the make-up on.

I agree about your zombie apocalypse account haha. No one would care about anything or status. . they'd just want brains to eat, not to understand.

I love your outfit. beautiful. I wouldn't mind if a well dressed zombie like you were to split open my head. haha.

I've never been particularly intrigued by zombies or comic books, but The Walking Dead is crack. At a party I started reading one of the books because it was sitting on the coffee table, and I was hooked. They just suck you right into the characters' panicked, crazy existence and you HAVE to know what will happen. The dialogue and the way the women are portrayed have made me go WTF!! so many times, but I can't stop reading because the plot is so compelling. I think I would be in big trouble in a zombie apocalypse because my husband and I live in a densely populated area. However, we do have a sword in the house and jugs of water in case of earthquakes, so maybe we could pack up and drive to someplace safer.
