Kawaii Desuuu~

This is my sorry attempt at sort of trying to emanate a Gothic Lolita vibe with my outfit today. What began as a plan to wear all black and wander about glaring at everybody (last week was trying, and it's best to keep people at a distance lest they make things worse) morphed into me wearing the girliest black and white stuff I could find, and putting my hair in pigtails. Then I made my eyes as big as they'd go for these photos. I'm proud of how big I got my eyes to go. Aw yeah.

I'm wearing: Old Navy skirt, F21 cardigan and earrings, Target tights, H&M necklace.

I felt pretty awesome in this outfit all day, regardless of whether or not I pulled off the Gothic Lolita thing. At least I can say I was inspired by Gothic Lolita, as I'm not really quite here yet. I love the aesthetic of Lolita style, though. I'm so inspired by Japanese street style, particularly in the veins of Mori Girl and Grimoire. So pretty. When I live in a castle of my own I will dress solely in Grimoire style clothes, and gaze longingly out of windows.

Also, yes, I used to be totally obsessed with anime and I still think some of the best shows/series I've ever seen were anime. I particularly love Gankutsuou, based on The Count of Monte Cristo but in a crazy acid technicolor sci fi future, and Samurai Champloo, by the one who brought you Cowboy Bebop. And if you haven't seen Cowboy Bebop, then I just don't know what to do with you.

This cardigan is really pretty! I love the lace detailing and it goes perfectly with your necklace. Also, glad to see you worked out your photos today!

Now if only you had a "burst of pigment" to brighten your day. Muahaha. ;)

I think for a toned down version you did a great job capturing the gothic lolita style. Regardless, you look adorable.

I've never really gotten into anime but I'm really interested in Japanese fashion and culture. And I love Hayao Miyazaki films. My husband and I are trying to make a trip there in 2012!!

I dunno - hah, I didn't really like Cowboy Bebop. I only watched like the first four or five eps though. It was the first anime aside from Miyazaki films that I ever watched though so maybe I ought to revisit it because I loved Firefly (duh!) Right now I'm watching DeathNote and I think it's probably going to become my all-time fave anime to date but I also love Fullmetal Alchemist. Dale watched Gankutsuou and said it was his favourite anime ever so I suppose I ought to watch that too!

ANYWAY - I love your outfit. You look adorable and the thought of you glaring at people in this getup - great mental image!

This is darling times 237892816472- lovin' the detailing on the cardigan and the necklace. May not be all out Lolita, but it's that style with more of a Meg twist. Yup. Your name defines a style now.

I am so glad you like Cowboy Bebop! I actually got my Pembroke Welsh Corgi because of Ein! It is one of my favorite anime. I have also loved Sailor Moon for the longest time and my inspiration in the art world just happens to be Hayao Miyazaki. So much awesomeness!

Bahaha, you are so cute in this outfit! I love the cardigan too. I wish I thought of cool inspiration like this for my outfits. Usually for me it's just like "Oh, it's really hot out? Alright, here's my outfit." Not as exciting.

I USED to be a huge anime geek. I've mentioned that to you long ago though in a comment after you posted about your geekiness towards it on my blog months back. I've grown a little tired of it though now but watched it like crazy constantly since 1989 up until last year when I started to watch it less because it was repetitive for me. I think I saw maybe 4 series' all last year (Romeo+Juliet, Count of Monte Cristo, Special A, and. . .now I can't remember the 4th one). . . while I used to watch about anything that came out with episodes from Japan the following day through fansubbed stuff. Have you seen Mushi-Shi at all? It is on my Netflix instant play que and I just haven't seen it or anything yet. It's been in there for a couple months waiting to be watched. I'm so mean to anime these days. :(

I still have to see samurai Champloo too.

I hope that the Cowboy Bebop live action movie will be amazing. . .but Keanu Reeves is in it as Spike which is a little odd. We'll see how that goes.

I used to have a few Gothic Lolita dresses but they are so much money! no thanks. I love Mori Girl fashion so much!!!!!!!

I realized in my modest fashion inspiration, I feature asian people the most. I just like their styles best!
