Outdoorsy

HOLY CRAP. I went outside today. I took photos. It was sunny out. These are all things that never happen. What is going on! Who am I?! What has become of the time-space continuum? Okay, okay but seriously. The real reason I took my outfit photos outside today is because Greg is still asleep in bed, the lazy butt, and I couldn't go in there and disturb him by turning on all the lights and posing right by the bed. So I went outside. Thankfully it wasn't raining out, either! The Portland gods smile upon me.

You may recognize this dress from Amanda's blog, although maybe not, because it is way longer on me than it is on her! This is what happens when shorties try to wear tall people clothes. Seriously though, this was hard for me to style because I'm so used to wearing short dresses and skirts and worrying about my bum falling out and giving everyone a free show. I feel super classy in this dress as a result. Aw yeah.

I'm wearing: Amanda's dress, H&M cardi and necklace, thrifted bow tie, Blowfish booties.

Check it out, I FIIINALLY found a way to style this godforsaken bow tie! And no, I can't figure out how to tie it properly. Yes, I've tried countless times, for hours at a time, and watched a myriad of how-to videos as well as studied various diagrams and detailed instructions with helpful pictures. None of it worked. I was not meant to tie bow ties. I need Matt Smith to come and help me, which is clearly my destiny, as otherwise I'd be able to tie this damn thing properly. Matt Smith! Help. It is time to fulfill our destiny.

Well I feel like a tool for staying inside today in order to "get stuff done" or whatever, considering the amazing weather we're having, but it has to be done sometime. And tomorrow I'm going to Powell's with Ashleigh so it can't be done then. All right, then. To work!

What the-- am I seeing green plant life in Portland? Does this mean the rest of the world doesn't shrivel up and die for winter like it does around here?! I don't even know what to do with this information.... I don't know who I am anymore.

Sometimes, I start fashion blog comments by not even talking about the outfit. /fail

It is quite the change seeing a long dress on you! But it is a welcomed one, because it looks cute as hell on you! Especially with the untied bow tie!

I've gotten so envious of you guys getting your packages already! The creeps in my town have probably been cuddling with my expected packages in the back of the post office just to delay them getting to me! So far, only Amanda's has arrived... and Im not even home to get it! I had to call my mom and tell her to retrieve it from the porch and to keep her hands off my cool, borrowed threads.

Longest comment ever? Possibly.

I love it! And holy crap, you ARE short lady because that dress was above my knees. Next time I'll measure things for you, hehe ;] I still love it though, that bow tie looks so cute!

i think your tie is perfect the way it is in this outfit.

a little factoid..my father only wears bow ties..he owns probably close to 60 of them..it's crazy..my mother doesn't understand..hahaha..
also..he wears a suit everyday too with a pocket watch.
basically the only thing he doesn't wear is a monocle..
(now thinking about it..i should really do an outfit post on him...!)

anyways..love the outdoor pictures..amanda's dress fits you perfectly! as ALWAYS..you are beautiful.

You look so sweet and cute! WOOT for the bow tie! The longer length looks very elegant on you, and kudos for wearing white, I would screw that up for sure. lol I am in the same boat as you, always inside getting shit done.

It looks a lot nicer in Portland than here, want to trade?

You're right, the dress does look different haha! But, you also styled it in your own way... I really like longer dresses/skirts on you, you pull them off well!

You do look classy! You might want to keep that dress. I just love this outfit. Bow ties really ARE cool! ;-)

The weather has been so nice lately!

These pictures are sooo cute! I know what you mean about the short dress vs. long dress thang. I feel weirdly frumpy in longer dresses, but this looks so cute on you! I love the bowtie!

I wish my hair looked like that when I wore it curly. Mine's just kind of sad.

I am STILL ridiculously excited that you're from Missoula! And know of Moscow! Eeeep! I didn't think there was a single blogger within a 500 mile radius! Do you ever come back to visit? If you do, a blogger meetup would be too cool!

That dress is ah-mazing. I love it.

Oh. Wow. I feel so stupid now...I never realized until now that your blog title comes from Doctor Who. I blame it on the fact that I'm way behind on DW. Haven't seen any of the eleventh doctor episodes yet. =P Anyways, I love the dress and bow tie! I've never been able to tie one either...mine are all cheap clip-ons.

I was thinking that your title camed from Matt Smith saying, "Bow-ties are Cool" . . .how is it that you are an anime freak and a Doctor who freak too? I love you more and more every entry. Hope you figure out how to tie that bow-tie!!!
