Featured Blog: Laughing With Broken Eyes

Welcome to my second feature post, guys! This time, instead of an old friend, I want to spotlight a new blogger friend. That's part of the reason I made this blog -- to make new friends with fellow awesome girls! So yeah, let's all tip our hats now to Amber Rose, of Laughing With Broken Eyes.

Amber and I have a mutual love for each other's blogs, so we thought, why not do a feature exchange? She writes me up, and I write her up too! Obviously this is a super great idea. I really enjoy Amber's blog because she's a gorgeous, gorgeous girl, first of all. I am pretty jealous. And her outfits are lovely, perfect for lounging about on the railroad tracks in a youthful and carefree way. I love that she truly comes across as a genuine, down to earth person. That's something I look for and really appreciate in a blog. So go check her out! She's awesome! But you don't have to take my word for it...

And now, for your reading entertainment, Amber and I came up with 10 ridiculous interview questions for us both to answer for each other. So fun! These are Amber's responses.

1. If you had to wear one kind of hat for the rest of eternity, what kind of hat would it be?
Hmh.. Well, I've got this really dorky bowler hat with a feather in it (like Yankee-Doodle-Dandy!). Whenever I wear it, I get the strangest looks but I feel so much like Sherlock Holmes in it that I think wearing it an eternity might just be alright.

2. What is your theme song?
This is such a hard question because my theme songs are constantly changing. Better play it safe. "Wonderwall", only the Ryan Adams cover. I'm torn between that and "Hurt", the Johnny Cash cover. Can you tell I like covers? This is purely coincidental.

3. Describe the ideal vacation spot, and a coinciding outfit.
I recently went on a trip to New York, and I just loved it! Throw me in the big apple for a week and I'd be a pretty happy kid. Brooklyn is where I actually want to live some day. Maybe. I'd wear a simple, lacey dress with mary-janes. Why? Because I absolutely love lace, and as for mary-janes... In a perfect world with me at my dream vacation, I'd be able to walk in heels.

4. If you went to Hogwarts, what House would you be in, and why?
Ravenclaw, of course! I'd love to be known for my cleverness!

5. GUILTY PLEASURE. Tell us them.
I collect vinyl! I spend all my money on albums and records, and whatever is left over goes to clothes! This reminds me.. I really need to put gas in my car. Hmh, I think I'll leave that in there. :)

6. The obvious one- Personal style! Gimme three and a half words to describe the way you dress!
Romantic, Vintage, Jazzy, :)
The smile was my half-word.

7. Photos! What's the strangest thing that's happened to you while taking them/ being photographed?
Oh-- this is a good one. I was taking photos of myself down at the railroad tracks one day. There was no one around so I was using my car to balance the camera on. Anyhow, I'm posing it up doing all sorts of things. Once I was done, I walked over to get the camera and, upon looking at the pictures, saw a young woman (20something) in the background, staring straight at the lens. I turned to see if she was there, but nobody. My friends make fun of me for this, but I'm convinced she was a ghost. No joke.

8. Music. You just found out you're adopted. What singers do you pray are your parents?
Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.
But if I could choose ANYBODY... it'd be Marilyn and JFK. :)

9. What is your favorite color?
Yellow.

10. Quote/Song Lyric Time:
I could be a total cliche and say "Laughing with your broken eyes", ala Ryan Adams (I named my blog after those lyics, after all!) but I'm not.
"Too tired to eat, too hungry to sleep." Nada Surf, See These Bones.
See how I snuck two lyrics into that question? :)

...Amber, I am kind of freaked out by your ghost story, not gonna lie.

This is what I love about blogging; it opens me up to a world of awesome people I might never have known about before. Also, check out my answers to her questions at her blog, and see the dinky portrait I drew of her as a gift.

Stay tuned for more info about getting a custom portrait of yourself! Coming soon.
